Reactor Sampling Systems SRS

Fully lined SRS Reactor Sampling Systems are complex, proven systems that are most commonly used in chemical and pharmaceutical industries. A substantial advantage of these systems is offered by a closed, representative sampling of liquid media from the top of reactors and vessels – reliable, quick and with utmost safety in mind, without any process interruptions. The systems operate by extracting the required sample by means of vacuum or under pressurized conditions. Absolute attention must be paid to the fact that these systems are not suitable to handle any boiling media. For such applications, special loop systems can be offered.

The operational safety during the sampling is our first priority when designing these systems. Since the unit is top-mounted, it is impossible that any substantial amount media from the reactor or vessel can drain from the system. The unit can be visually monitored at all times and operating is easy and safe. Thanks to its self-emptying concept, representative, cavity-free sample taking is assured. All components and lining materials are conform to FDA requirements. Additionally, they meet TA-Luft (VDI 2440) and ATEX 95 specifications.

SRS Systems are to be fitted with flanged media containers in accordance with ANSI 150lbs and DIN PN16/40 for ASME B16.5 & EN 1092 connections. One very common option is the installation of a dip pipe that connects the media container with the sampling unit. Such a conduit can be manufactured per customer specifications, straight or bent, lined with long-lasting materials such as virgin PTFE or PTFE-AS (anti-static). Raw material test reports and inspection certificates per EN 10204 can be furnished upon request.

Reactor Sampling Systems generally fall within two categories: manual systems or automated systems with air-driven diaphragm pumps.

Key features of both, the manual and automated systems, are their compact design, user-friendliness, and the built-in ability to perform safely at all times.

Sampling with all systems can be accomplished with our tried-and-proven SIV Sampling Valves. The modular concept allows the fitting of additional valves, such as diaphragm valves, ball valves, or plug valves, depending on specific applications. Detailed specifications and the applicable drawings, based on customer input, assure the quick and hassle-free processing of your order.

Swissfluid's SRS Lined Reactor Sampling Systems can solve the most challenging sampling!

SRS-P Manual Systems – under vacuum or pressurized

Sampling takes place with additional valves via vacuum or from a pressurized reactor/vessel.

SRS-P-E Manual systems with ejector

The attachment of an ejector is necessary whenever neither a vacuum nor pressure exists in the reactor or vessel. This ejector is operated by an inert gas which creates the necessary vacuum to extract a liquid sample from the vessel. Swissfluid offers such an adapted ejector to create a vacuum that will make the collection of a safe sample possible.

SRS-P-P Automated systems with air-driven diaphragm pump

Automating a system is advisable whenever measurements of ph value, re-dox value, or temperature are required beside the basic sample collection. Electrodes for such measurements can be installed, replaced and cleaned easily.
These systems result in forced circulation of the process media within the vessel and sampling valve, thereby enabling samples and measurements that are 100% representative at all times! The system also offers the possibility for constant circulation of the media throughout the vessel.
